Our Story

Built by commercial real estate operators who understood the business firsthand, Realcore is a cloud-based platform designed to help brokerage firms compete, grow, and operate more efficiently.

Realcore was founded by brothers Rich and Dave Harris shortly after they launched Synergy Commercial Advisors, a high-performing commercial real estate firm in Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina. With strong technology backgrounds and a shared interest in innovation, they set out to build a platform that would help them compete against much larger firms. What began as a tool for tracking agent production and organizing company data quickly expanded to optimize accounting workflows, centralize important company documents and databases, and provide greater visibility into revenue and expenses in a contingent-fee business, where forecasting is inherently difficult because deals are constantly evolving—expanding, contracting, getting delayed, or falling apart altogether.

The platform was created to solve real operating problems. At the time, much of the commercial real estate industry still relied on paper files, spreadsheets, and disconnected systems to manage important information. Pipelines tracked on paper or in Excel were often outdated almost as soon as they were completed. Cloud-based platforms were still relatively novel, trust in online systems was limited, and the industry as a whole was slow to adopt technology in a meaningful way. The Harris brothers saw it differently, and their professional backgrounds were unusually complementary.

Rich had built a reputation as a top producer, market strategist, and early adopter of technology in his advisory practice, completing nearly 2,000 transactions over the course of his career and leading the successful sale of Synergy to what is now Cushman & Wakefield, where he was asked to lead the office. Dave developed strong leadership skills in the U.S. Air Force, where he implemented technology solutions to operational problems. Following his military service, he entered commercial real estate first as a technology consultant, then in a wide range of roles across brokerage, accounting, management, operations, and property management. Together, their respective experiences gave them a clear understanding of the value of a firm's underlying data and how, when properly aggregated, it could lead to better strategic decision-making at both the agent and firm level.

What began as an internal platform for one high-performing brokerage quickly became a strategic advantage in the marketplace. It helped the firm compete against much larger national brands, supported recruiting, and improved financial visibility. The platform later expanded to include client-facing tools, including agency and corporate services portals, making advisory engagements more organized, centralized, and far more engaging than traditional service delivery models. In an industry still dominated by fragmented systems and static reporting, Realcore offered a more dynamic, connected way to manage data and workflows.

That differentiated approach was recognized early. A 2013 Triangle Business Journal article described Realcore as a cloud-based system designed to integrate client documents, key metrics, invoicing, and the accounting quirks unique to CRE brokerage firms — validation that the platform was already filling a gap the broader industry had yet to address.

Today, Realcore continues to reflect those origins: a platform built by experienced commercial real estate operators who understood the business firsthand and had the vision to see where it was headed.
