Our Story

Behind the Company

In late 2007, brothers Rich and Dave Harris became partners in a boutique commercial real estate firm in Raleigh-Durham known as Synergy Commercial Advisors. Having both come from tech backgrounds, the brothers believed that developing a software platform would be the most efficient way to run their new firm and differentiate themselves from their competition. Without the express intent of ever selling the platform to other firms, Realcore Applications was originally born an accident. After more than five years in development, it became clear to the brothers that Realcore would need to be separated from the boutique and be available to other commercial real estate firms in need of such a solution. The platform incorporated years of improvements before becoming available, and at launch featured agent, management, and firm-wide functionality.

Prior to partnering with Rich at Synergy, Dave served in multiple technology, management and brokerage roles across the Raleigh-Durham area. There is no doubt that much of the success of Realcore is the fact that Dave gained such a diverse set of experiences at companies like Drucker & Falk, GVA Advantis and Synergy (where Dave served in a wide variety of roles including CFO, web designer, broker/producer, property manager, etc.). Dave was recognized by the Triangle Business Journal as one of the Triangle’s top technology executives and has worked to grow Realcore’s subscriber base dramatically since taking over as Chief Executive Officer in 2014.

Prior to partnering with Dave at Synergy, Rich was a top producer for regional GVA Advantis. He went on to sell the boutique firm to Cassidy Turley in the summer of 2014, which quickly became DTZ, then Cushman & Wakefield. In the next five years he would lead Cushman’s RDU office, doubling the production group, tripling revenues, quadrupling profits, and winning the local business journal’s ‘Best Places to Work’ award each year that he managed the office. Rich continued to produce while managing, achieving top producer in the office twice during the five years, consistently producing among the top producers in the region. Rich is widely regarded in the industry as a commercial real estate thought leader.
