The calendar is about to flip to the second half of the year. Deals are moving, agents are busy, and your Realcore data has been quietly accumulating for months. That makes right now the perfect moment to pause, take stock, and make sure your firm's data is as clean and useful as it should be.
Think of this as your mid-year tune-up. It does not have to take long — but doing it now saves you from untangling a much bigger mess come December.
Here is what to look at.
Clean Up Duplicates
Duplicate records are a slow leak. They skew your reporting, confuse agents, and make simple tasks harder than they need to be. Over the course of a busy season, duplicates happen — a client entered twice, a property listed under slightly different names, a contact that slipped through more than once.
Take some time to review your client, contact, and property records for duplicates. Consolidating them now keeps your data accurate and your reporting trustworthy for the rest of the year.
Review Your Tags
Tags are only useful if they mean something — and if they are being used consistently across your team. A mid-year review is a good opportunity to ask: are the tags you set up at the start of the year still relevant? Are agents using them the way you intended? Are there new categories that have emerged that deserve their own tag?
Trim what is not being used, update anything that has drifted in meaning, and take note of any gaps. Clean tags lead to cleaner filters, cleaner reports, and a much clearer picture of what is happening across your pipeline.
Verify Commission Splits and Pay Dates
Commission errors are the kind of thing that do not get noticed until they really matter — and by then, they are significantly harder to unwind. Before the second half of the year gets into full swing, it is worth running a review of your commission splits and pay dates to make sure everything is set up correctly.
Look for deals where splits may not reflect current agreements, pay dates that have not been updated, or any gaps between what the system shows and what your agents are expecting. Catching these mid-year gives you time to correct them without the pressure of a closing deadline.
Pull Your Reports — Measure Your Progress
This is the one that often gets skipped, and it is one of the most valuable things you can do mid-year. Your reports are not just a record of what happened — they are a tool for figuring out where you stand and what you still need to accomplish before year end.
Pull your key reports and take a real look at them. How does your deal volume compare to where you were at this point last year? Are your agents on track toward their goals? Are there patterns — in deal types, in property categories, in commission structures — that point to opportunities or gaps worth addressing in the second half?
The data is already there. The reports just bring it to the surface.
Make It a Habit
A mid-year check-in is not about fixing everything at once. It is about staying ahead of the issues that tend to compound quietly over time. An hour of intentional review now can save you significantly more time and frustration later.
